Pearls: T-shirt treasures

Pearls and summer, what's better? Maybe gelato?

I have noticed more women wearing pearls with very casual wear—jeans and a tee—than ever before, so in today's windows, delights of the Relaxed Real category: all pieces are under $US 250 and for many, way under. (Not all may be available at time of post; contact jewellers to ask if they can make another.) Prices in approximate $US and do not include shipping.

Let's pair them with a tee! On the bottom, your favourite jeans or skirt.

11mm lightly-banded South Sea pearl chevron earrings by Kojima Company, $243. (Note: 10% off all Kojima pieces in June, Pearl Month!) South Sea earrings are often treated with more serious setting; this unusually playful SS style goes with...
Tee: "Anyway" 100% cotton tee by Mango. I like the sleeve length, slightly wider neckline, and clever position of the graphic.

A chic 20-inch necklace of matte onyx beads with a single capped pearl, by Catherine Canino at New Twist; price, $90. I wanted to show the detail on the cap, which is unusual to find at that price.
Tee: Mercerized cotton half-sleeve tee, Uniqlo.

Fresh as a June breeze, earrings of white freshwater ripple pearls, keshis and red spinel beads; all natural colours, on sterling hooks by Etsy seller simplyadorned4you. (Buy Canadian!) A little more earring than a stud style, but still lightweight. Price, about $105.
Tee: Meg French-tie cotton tee, $69.

26-inch necklace of 7.2-9mm off-round metallic pearls in peach, pink and purple with sparkling Oregon sunstone beads; handmade by PatriciaSaabDesigns (on Etsy). Patricia Saab really knows her pearls and strings on Beader's Secret, which makes her necklaces extra-strong. Price, about $230.
Tee: Why not a mariniére? St. James beige stripes at Halsbrook; other colours available.

I give pearls more window space in June— it's the birthstone for the month, and I want to fit them in before Passage shutters soon, for the usual July and August holiday.

Always love your pearl posts and this one is such fun. As usual, you've taken the extra step with the t-shirt pairings, thanks for the ideas.
Pearls and tees....a perfect pairing!

What a lovely idea! I have a large pearl that was once part of an aunt's ring (surrounded by diamonds, would you believe). I've had it made into a pendant but tend to keep it for best. No more!

Christine: Ohhh I would love to see. Sometimes the chain length or type needs to change for a fein-jewellery piece to work with a tee and it also depends on neckline. And do wear it!
