In Memorium: Sybil M. Hicks
Mrs. Hicks wrote her own obituary, which has received enormous attention. She is at the forefront of a growing movement of persons who want to tell it like it was. Her parting message, tart, funny and provocative, makes me wish I had known her.
Swim in peace, Sybil Hicks.

It just occurred to me that Dorothy may not be human. Even funnier if true. Okay, have we all been writing our obituary in our head today?

Leaving it on her own terms, I love that.

The CBC has a story on this. She had Alzheimer's and the kids wrote this in first person.

What a loving way to say goodbye, even if it basically was written by her kids, it gives you the essence of what she was like!
